Daniel FernandezDigital technologies have become essential to participate in society. Unfortunately, they are not designed to be accessible for a wide range of people. Working informally with my own parents and grandparents, I have seen firsthand the challenges and frustrations many older adults face with tech.

I founded Grandson I.T. in 2025 to empower people to navigate the often dizzying world of digital technologies.

I can assist with the majority of everyday problems older adults may experience with a range of hardware, software, and online services. When I don't have the immediate answer, my research and problem-solving skills fill in the gaps. And if I can't solve your problem, I can recommend someone who can.

No matter the task, I bring an enthusiastic, patient, respectful approach to helping with and teaching about tech.

What to expect from your first Grandson I.T. session

  1. Tech support in the comfort of your own home.
  2. Evaluation of tech challenges and goals. Example:
    • I want to stream music with Spotify
    • My laptop keyboard isn't responsive
    • My iPad is almost full
  3. Get quick fixes! Example:
    Problem: iPad is almost full

    Solution: We went to Settings > General > iPad Storage. We saw you had downloaded many TV show episodes. We deleted unused apps, and unwanted TV episodes, freeing up 20% of the storage!
  4. For tasks that are more time-intensive or requires specialized tools and research, I'll send you a menu of options. Example:
    Problem: laptop keyboard isn't responsive
    Solutions:
    • Use compressed air, microfiber wipes, etc. to professionally clean the keyboard
    • Take the laptop to a local repair store for servicing
    • File a warranty claim, if covered
    • Use an external keyboard
    • Replace keyboard or laptop
  5. After the session, you get a recap of what we worked on and an agenda for next session.
